Best beaches on the Costa Cálida
First of all, we can mention Calblanque Beach which is located to the south of La Manga and is protected by the Calblanque Natural Park. It is home to a large marine ecosystem with coves and salt marshes protecting an endangered species such as the loggerhead turtle.
It is not a very frequented beach due to the lack of services but it is a very good option to spend the day in a different and quiet place. This beach is not accessible to vehicles, especially in summer, therefore, public transport is provided to access the beach in the months when it is more crowded.
Secondly, Cabo de Palos is full of magnificent coves, in particular we can point out the Cala Fría, highly recommended for snorkelling with views of the Cabo de Palos lighthouse.
Next to it we find the Cala del Pato which is close to the Levante Beach, one of the most frequented places, in fact, it is so called because it has a projection of rocks in the shape of a duck. The cove is surrounded by rocks that act as a breakwater.
We can also highlight Playa Honda with a great length where the best water sports are practised. It is a fine sandy, semi-urban beach that offers all the services you need.
Also, Playa del Portús is a small town in Cartagena. You can enjoy a cove of crystalline waters surrounded by mountains but offering all the services you need to enjoy a day at the beach to unwind.
Finally, the beach of Percheles is located in Mazarrón. Although it is a bit far away, its fine sand and crystal clear waters make it a good choice to spend the day. It is secluded and unspoilt, so you can enjoy the sun and the scenery.
